Grayson D - Violin/Fiddle, Mandolin, Banjo, Uke, Guitar

Grayson Drum holds a degree in music from Gardner-Webb University, where he was a co-founder of the ongoing Gardner-Webb Old Time Music Ensemble. He studied fiddle under country and bluegrass legend Bobby Hicks (Bill Monroe, Ricky Skaggs, Porter Wagoner) and trained in classical violin with Sharon Lawrence, Concertmaster of the Virginia Symphony. As a versatile teacher, Grayson prides himself on flexibility and adaptability, having taught on and off for over ten years. His personal mission as an instructor is to help students become confident, well-rounded musicians—all while having fun in the process.

Grayson has performed across a wide range of genres, including country, bluegrass, blues, rock, swing, and neoclassical styles. He began performing at bluegrass festivals alongside members of the Country Gentlemen and Darin Aldridge. As a teenager, he was chosen to replace the late, great violin maker John Sipe as the fiddler for the Roustabouts bluegrass band. During college, he toured and recorded with U.S. Navy Band leader Wayne Taylor as a multi-instrumentalist while simultaneously playing fiddle for the bluegrass band Carnegie Tradition.

Throughout his career, Grayson has contributed to numerous recording projects as both a studio musician and solo artist, working in some of the finest recording studios in the country. He considers it an honor to have shared the stage and collaborated with many of his personal musical heroes.
